A Little About Mooscellaneous
Hello! My name is Shayla Moose and I just can't help myself, but I love any reason to do something creative and artistic. I enjoy adding that something special to gifts, events, stationary and decor.
It became clear to me early on that I was destined to pursue the arts. I was constantly drawing in books, on sidewalks, and to my parents’ dismay, a mermaid mural on my closet walls. My love for artistic expression eventually expanded into theatrics, special events, literature, and anything artistic I could get my hands on.
I studied Costume Design at the University of the North Carolina School of the Arts' Graduate Program and did my Undergraduate studies in Theatre at Tarleton State University. My costume designs were selected for exhibit in the 2011 USITT Young Designers’ Forum, Michael Merritt Design Showcase in Chicago, National Design Portfolio Review in NYC and Showcase West at UCLA campus.
I work in Theatre in the Fort Worth, Texas area with my wonderful husband and rather large cat and loving dogs. I'm very taken with legends, myths, folklore and fairytales. I use these to inspire my artwork which is more fantasy oriented. Other loves include: rock climbing, the History Channel, and mermaids. Artists that inspire me today: John Petre, Michael Parkes, Raymond Moose, Christopher Lovell, Soni aka. Bohemian Weasel
